The Story: La Cicla Tours traces its roots back to a serendipitous encounter between founders Christian Arbelaez and Ryan Cross during a memorable campfire gathering in Moab. Their connection was instant, fueled by a shared passion for human connection through the wonders of discovery and adventure.
Through their journeys across landscapes of Colombia, it became increasingly apparent that they had an extraordinary tale to share with the world – not just as a cycling expedition, but as an immersion into the heart of Colombian culture and untamed landscapes.
Christian, a native Colombian who now calls Asheville, NC home, loves nothing more than sharing the culture of his homeland. Paired with Ryan's extensive experience in cycling and event management, the duo forged a vision that would ultimately culminate in the establishment of La Cicla Tours in 2019.
Embarking on its fifth year of crafting extraordinary Colombian cycling journeys, La Cicla Tours continues to be an avenue of exploration, a conduit to authentic cultural encounters, and a celebration of the unparalleled beauty that is Colombia.

Born and raised in Medellín, Colombia, Christian is a proud Paisa whose deep connection to his home country is unwavering, even after living his adult life in the United States. His passion for Colombia is evident in the way he brings its vibrant culture to life, introducing riders to local music, cuisine, and traditions that make his country so extraordinary.
With an engineering and project management background, Christian ensures every detail of the tour is flawlessly organized to deliver a smooth and seamless experience. His humor will have you laughing throughout the trip, and his homemade arepas and empanadas will leave you craving more—a true taste of his Colombian roots.
Ryan Cross

Ryan’s first trip to Colombia in 2017 sparked a deep connection with the country’s culture and stunning cycling routes. Since then, he’s made it his mission to share Colombia’s beauty with adventurers from around the globe, creating unforgettable experiences on two wheels.
As a leader, Ryan is passionate about fostering a sense of camaraderie and adventure among riders. He ensures each trip runs smoothly, guiding a team of talented local experts and taking care to make every participant feel welcomed and supported.
For Ryan, nothing is more rewarding than introducing people to the magic of Colombia and watching them fall in love with its charm, as he did years ago.
Andres Cuervo - Operations Director
A lifelong resident of Duitama, Colombia, Andres is deeply connected to the local community and plays a critical role in every trip. Together with his wife Mayra, he ensures each guest feels at home, offering an authentic Colombian experience. Guests even stay at Andres’ family-owned property, adding a personal touch to the journey.
As a cyclist himself, Andres brings firsthand knowledge of the area’s roads and trails. He drives the support car each day, providing encouragement and practical assistance to riders, all while showcasing the warmth and hospitality that define his community. His ties to the region and passion for cycling create a seamless and unforgettable experience for every guest.
Jeferson Adrian Roldán - Head Guide
As the head guide, Jefer brings unmatched energy and enthusiasm to every ride. Known for his infectious positivity, he’s the ultimate motivator, whether riding with the fastest group or supporting those who need a little extra encouragement.
A proud family man, Jefer lives in Duitama with his wife and two daughters, who often make an appearance during trips. An incredibly strong cyclist, Jefer’s focus is always on the riders, ensuring everyone feels supported and inspired on the road. His passion for cycling and uplifting spirit make him an irreplaceable part of the team, turning every ride into a memorable adventure.
Theira Rivera - Support Guide
Theira brings warmth, kindness, and unwavering support to each guest. Living full-time in Duitama, Colombia, she embodies the welcoming spirit of the country and ensures every rider feels cared for both on and off the bike.
Theira’s dedication is matched by her husband Hernando, who often joins the rides, adding to the sense of camaraderie and community. Together, they create an atmosphere of genuine hospitality, making every trip a truly memorable experience.
Juan Pablo Castaño - Lead Moto
Since joining La Cicla in 2023, Juan Pablo has become an indispensable part of the team. Leading every ride on his motorcycle, affectionately known as "Moto Mono" or “Moto Monkey,” he ensures riders stay safe and on course while bringing his infectious energy.
A professional guide and cyclist himself, Juan Pablo embodies the vibrant Colombian spirit, enhancing every moment of the journey. His passion, enthusiasm, and warmth make him the perfect companion to brighten any Colombian cycling adventure.
