You’re in good company

La Cicla Tours traces its roots back to a serendipitous encounter between founders Christian Arbelaez and Ryan Cross during a memorable campfire gathering in Moab. Their connection was instant, fueled by a shared passion for human connection through the wonders of discovery and adventure.

Through their numerous journeys across landscapes of Colombia together, it became increasingly apparent that they had an extraordinary tale to share with the world – one that unfolded not just as a cycling expedition, but as an immersive odyssey into the heart of Colombian culture and wild landscapes.

Christian, a native Colombian who now calls Asheville, NC home, loves nothing more than sharing the splendors of his homeland. Paired with Ryan's extensive experience in the realms of cycling and event management, the duo forged a vision that would ultimately culminate in the establishment of La Cicla Tours in 2019.

As La Cicla embarks on its fourth year of crafting extraordinary Colombian cycling journeys, La Cicla Tours continues to be a beacon of exploration, a conduit to authentic cultural encounters, and a celebration of the unparalleled beauty that is Colombia.

Christian Arbelaez

Operations Director & Chief Arepa Officer

Born and raised in Medellin, Colombia, Christian is a true Paisa. His love of his home country is seen in his drive for sharing the Colombian experience.

You’ll get familiar with the local music, cuisine, and native language as Christian points out the intricacies that make Colombia a truly unique country.

With an engineering & project management background, Christian makes sure that no detail in our tours goes unnoticed, and logistics are smooth as butter.

Don’t be surprised if he makes you laugh harder than ever, and his arepas and empanadas blow your mind.

Ryan Cross

Tour Director and Chief Enthusiasm Officer

Ryan took his first trip to Colombia in 2017 and immediately fell in love with the country’s passion for cycling and world-class gravel routes. Many trips later, Ryan has learned his way around Colombia on two wheels and loves to share his discovery with other adventurer seekers.

He has designs our tour routes and knows his way around like a local. He conducts a pre-ride meeting before every day gets started, reviewing route details, stops along the way and making sure each rider is comfortable on the road.

Ryan takes extra care to make sure all riders are taken care of on the road, and leads our team of local guides on each and every day.

Andres Cuervo

Andres drives support car on each day, and will be the one cheering you on up that last climb of the day.
